Non invasive nursing actions that can independently reducing the shortness of breath in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis is the provision of semi fowler position with a slope of
450 level. The prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Kabupaten Pekalongan in
2011 amounted to 339 people. In 2012 amounted to 278 people. In 2013 amounted to 368 people. In 2014 amounted to 289 people. Semi fowler position aimed at reducing the risk of static pulmonary secrestions and reduces the risk of a decrease in the devolopment of the chest. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of semi fowler position to the respiratory rate of pulmunary tuberculosis patients in RSUD Kabupaten Pekalongan. This study uses quasy experiment design with one group pretest and posttest approutch. Sampling using purposive sampling with a total of 20 respondents. Based on statistical test sample paired T-test ρ value of 0,0001 < α (0,05). Which mean there is the effect of semi fowler position to the respiratory rate of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in RSUD Kabupaten Pekalongan. Provision of semi fowler position can be used by health workers as intervention in overcoming shortness of breath in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.
