New Concept Of American Blonde Girl As American Beauty Reflected In Nathan Greno And Byron Howard's Tangled (2010)

There is only one problem which is going to be discussed in this research
that is how the new concept of American blonde girl is reflected through Rapunzel
in Tangled movie.
The object and primary data used in this research is Tangled movie and
the screenplay. In doing the process of the research, the researcher uses cultural
studies approach, especially Roland Barthes’s mythology as the main theory. Mythology is a sensitive topic to be analyzed because this particularly discuss
about myth that is relevant with the history. Supporting approach from American
blonde history is also used to strengthen the analysis. Semiotic of film applied is
the approach written by James Monaco.
The method applied in this research is qualitative approach. In collecting
data, the researcher uses documentation method. The steps are watching, reading,
identifying, classifying, and selecting. In analyzing data, the researcher uses the
steps such as displaying, explaining, and interpreting.
In this research, the researcher finds the new concept of blonde girl which
is presented through the movie. Keyword: mythology, blonde, roland barthes, semiotic of film.
