Fascism In Bryke's Avatar The Legend Of Korra Book 4 Balance (2014)

There is only one problem which is going to be discussed in this
research, 1) How is fascism represented in Bryke’s Avatar The Legend of Korra
Book 4 Balance?
The object and primary data used in this research is Avatar The Legend of
Korra Book 4 Balance’s screenplay. In doing the process of the research, the
researcher uses sociology of literature, especially fascism as the main theory.
Fascism is a sensitive topic to be analyzed because this particularly discuss about
a dictator and ultra-nationalist movement which appears after World War I. This
research analyze about certain related elements in identifying the real fascism.
The method applied in this research is qualitative approach. The object of
this research is Bryke’s Avatar The Legend of Korra Book 4 Balance and the data
sources are the different scripts of each episode. In collecting data, the researcher
uses documentation method. The steps are watching, reading, identifying,
classifying, and selecting. In analyzing data, the researcher uses the steps such as
displaying, explaining, and interpreting.
In this research, the researcher finds the elements of radical and ultranationalist
movement which are represented the real fascism through the movie,
including the characteristic of the movement, the fascist leader’s behave, and the
ideology of this movement.
