Scientism In Luc Besson's Lucy (2014)

There is only one problem which is going to be discussed in this
research, 1) How is scientism represented in Luc Besson’s Lucy?
The object and primary data used in this research is Lucy’s screenplay. In
doing the process of the research, the researcher uses sociology of literature,
especially scientism as the main theory.
The method applied in this research is qualitative approach. The object of
this research is Luc Besson’s Lucy and the data source is the script of this movie.
In collecting data, the researcher uses documentation method. The steps are
watching, reading, identifying, classifying, and selecting. In analyzing data, the
researcher uses the steps such as displaying, explaining, and interpreting.
In this research, the researcher finds the concepts of scientism which is
represented by science in atheist’s view, including the characteristics of science
and the relation between scientism and God
